I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Atlantic Environmental Solutions (Hoboken, NJ) in Jan 2016
Interview
After applying through LinkedIn, I received a request for an interview about 3 weeks later. I came in for a first interview with two current environmental professionals. After another two weeks, I was contacted for a second interview with the vice president of the company. During the second interview, I wasn't asked any questions. The job and the company were described to me, and I was given a chance to ask questions of my own. When I asked when I should follow up with them, I was told that they would contact me in a few weeks' time, as they were renovating and would need time to finish the new space for their new employees. It was made very clear that I should wait and be patient, despite the fact that I usually follow up. I sent the traditional thank you letter and waited. 6 weeks later, I finally sent a follow-up email just checking to see where they might be in the process, and I received an immediate and extremely curt, "All positions have been filled at this time."
Two interviews, an insistence that they would follow up with me to let me know either way, and they had no intention of ever telling me that they weren't interested. Add that to the somewhat gloomy atmosphere in the office (I don't think I even saw a single person smile), and I think I may have dodged a bullet there. I didn't get the sense that they treat their employees very well.
