The interview process for a automotive sales position typically involves multiple stages to assess your sales skills, product knowledge, and ability to interact with customers.

Confirm your experience in sales, customer service, or the automotive industry.

3. First Interview (In-Person or Virtual)
This interview is usually conducted by the sales manager or dealership owner. Common topics include:
Sales Experience: Have you sold cars or similar high-value items before? How do you handle objections?
Customer Interaction: How do you build rapport with customers? How do you handle difficult customers?
Knowledge of Cars: Can you explain car features, financing options, and warranties?
Sales Techniques: How would you convince a customer to buy today? How do you upsell add-ons like insurance or service packages?
Situational Questions:
“A customer is hesitant about a car's price. How do you respond?”

Interview
The interview was a two-stage one. The panel was warm and receptive. I thought I wouldn't go past this stage since I had quite some difficulty remembering the company profile. The interview included questions about the company generally, mission, vision, what they deal with.
