In-person interview, no technical questions, but felt a little off, was told that previously there was a lawyer in the company, but has since left. Which gave a iffy feeling.
Furthermore, the CEO, arrived like 15 mins late for the interview, no apology, nothing and no eye contact when shaking hands.
What a coincidence, when I was waiting for the interview, I overheard someone speaking with the HR, so this... will be my last day. The environment within the company felt very empty-ish and people seem to be leaving like a revolving door.
When I got the offer, the salary proposed was RM3k lesser than my already shared pay slip. Naturally, I countered and ask for higher, and also because this is a managerial and standalone role. But they low balled, and still maintained.
HR seemed to not know what is really going on within the Legal function, cant give clear answers about the job tasks, or external law firms engaged.
They fully ghosted me after the in-person interview, but many weeks later, they reverted with an offer and HR was pushy af. She would text me on a personal note, the boss is ..... . She seems to care more about her KPI.
When I was reading the glassdoor review, I read so many negative reviews about the company as whole, especially the HR. Frankly speaking, I saw it beforehand, HR would even email this is "fast-phased", by right the word is "fast-paced" but she called it "'fast-phased", and would be very pushy for me to accept the offer.
They would ask for a payslip and a referral, and WhatsApp your referral to fill in a form. All of which was obliged.
Why must the HR highlight on being "fast paced" in the acceptance email, unless you want to be petty. When it comes to recruitment, it is definitely a two-way street, and most people see it on a long term persepective. HR just wants you to accept the offer. I can already sense a lot of toxicity brewing.
A lot of the comments in glassdoor of this company, also suggest this company is for short term only. Who would'nt want to think throughly before joining.
