I had an interview with a manager from Swee Lee, a straightforward, friendly, and clear communicator. It was easy to see that she has high expectations and places strong emphasis on providing GEM (Going the Extra Mile) service to customers. This is understandable given the company represents a highly recognised and respected brand in Singapore.
HR Experience
However, the experience with the HR team was disappointing. After the interview, they proceeded with a background check, which I complied with. But when I followed up afterwards to check on the status, there was no response at all, not even a courtesy reply.
For a company with such a solid reputation in the industry, this kind of communication from HR was surprising and unprofessional. It gave the impression of poor internal coordination and lack of basic candidate respect, which detracts from the company’s otherwise strong public image.
Overall Impression
The team you’d be working with seems capable and passionate, but the recruitment process needs serious improvement especially in terms of follow-up and candidate experience.
