      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      20 Feb 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bandwidth in Jan 2025

      Interview

The recruiter reached out, not immediately, after submitting the application. I got scheduled for a manager interview after a week. Instead of email, recruiter reached out to tell that I would be scheduled for a loop. Then, after a week was the loop. It was about 3 hours, 1 hour with 2 interviewers, asking behavioral and 2 very simple coding questions, 30 minutes with another interviewer for behavioral and somewhat tricky question, 1 hour with another 2 interviewers for system design and behavioral, and another 30 minutes with the hiring manager. There was only 1 call session. You remained connected to that. Unfortunately, the 3rd interviewer closed the session. It took another 15 minutes to finally get another session for the hiring manager. I did not get a lot of time with the hiring manager due to that lost connection. I felt the loop went well. Interviewers were nice. I sent a follow-up after a week to the recruiter. It's been 3 weeks now since the loop and I still did not get any response.

      Interview

The interview process typically begins with an initial phone or video screening by a recruiter to assess your background and fit for the role. This is followed by one or more technical interviews, which may include coding challenges, system design discussions, or problem-solving exercises. If successful, you may be invited to onsite or virtual panel interviews with team members, covering both technical and behavioral aspects. The process usually concludes with a final round or hiring manager interview before a decision is made.

      Question 1

This question aimed to assess both problem-solving ability and communication skills, as well as how I handle complexity under real-world conditions.
