I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Bandwidth (San Mateo, CA) in May 2026
Interview
A recruiter reached out based on my experience and skill set. He explained the role and we discussed my background, from there he recommended me to the VP of Sales. We then arranged a video interview that went well, but he seemed only marginally interested in a 2nd interview, but it did get scheduled about a week later. The 2nd interview focused on my 90 day plan. I prepared a very thorough PPT. At the end of the interview I asked the standard closing question, but he was very non-committal, so I knew there would be no next step. After nearly 2 weeks of no feedback, I emailed the recruiter a few times, and he finally responded and said the hiring manager was worried the sales cycle might be too long based on my previous jobs ... that was such a weak cop-out.
Standard. Remote (pre on-site only) with the manager. The questions were typical you'd expect based on personality and characteristics. STAR style questions here and there. Prepare as you would most others.

Question 1
How do you respond to stressful situations with multiple deadlines at once?
I had two different in person interviews, and then lunch with the hiring manager. I got to explain some concepts and discussed previous projects and asked them about what they had been doing lately. The people were all very friendly and supportive.
