I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Best Buy (Louisville, KY) in Mar 2011
Interview
I received a call from Best Buy asking if I was interested. The person that called me asked me what part of the store I was interested in working for. I told her my favorite things. She said "well would you be willing to be a cashier?" I said yes because I really need a job. I was invited to interview 2 days later. During my interview the manager stopped me and said "you are not going to be a cashier". He did this because while talking to me he realized I would be better suited for a sales position. He recommended I talk to the GM. The GM just talked to me for a few minutes. Just asking why I wanted to work for Best Buy and why I left my last job. Overall it was a very good experience and indicitave of the management staff I work for.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why did you leave your last job? You were making way more money there than you will here
Was not hard. Asked simple behavioural questions and wanted to grasp if I could handle high-pressured environments to be able to handle work on days such as Black Friday. Mostly just talked about my past experience in retail!
It wasn’t bad at all. It was just a few quick questions about my past experience and whether or not I would be able to work part or full time, stuff like that.
