      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Best Buy (Austin, TX) in Oct 2010

      Interview

I was looking for a part-time job to help pay for rent, so I stopped by the local Best Buy to see if they were hiring. This was about the last week in September. They redirected me to their online website and told me to apply there. So I applied to their website on September 29th and received a call the very next day. If you are interested in being hired for part-time, the best time is to apply just before October. October is when they do their principle hiring for the Christmas holidays and they number of seasonal help they hire can outnumber the permanent employees. I was interviewed three times, once on the phone and twice with different managers. The questions were pretty standard behavioral questions for a retail store--"Why do you want to work at Best Buy?" and "What do interests you about electronics?" and "If you see someone stealing a candy bar, employee or otherwise, what would your reaction be?" were all asked during my manager interviews. They are basically looking for honest, hard-working people they can count on.

      Interview questions [3]

      Question 1

You see an employee or a customer stealing a candy bar. What do you do?
      1 Answer

      Question 2

Why do you want to work at Best Buy?

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Best Buy (Houston, TX)

      Interview

3 interviews in total.. seems a bit excessive and absurd for a retail position, not even a management position. First 2 interviews were in person and third interview was with GM

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What are the roles of asset protection

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Best Buy (Hartford, CT) in Dec 2019

      Interview

Very Straightforward. I found it to be less intimidating than most other interviews I have been on. Be prepared to answer some basic questions about honesty and your tolerance for breaking the rules. Spoiler alert: There can be no tolerance for breaking rules or dishonesty in this position.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

What would you do if an associate took a pack of gum while working at the register and offered you a piece.
      1 Answer

      Question 2

Do you have any problems writing long reports?

      Negative experience

      Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Best Buy (Los Angeles, CA) in Jul 2018

      Interview

Applied for a full-time position after being part-time for over a year, and felt that my manager who was doing the interview did not fully grasp the responsibilities and of Asset Protection. The answers they were looking for were not reflective of the realities of the job.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

"If an associate continues to not perform their hourly shrink/safety walks, how would you go about getting them to do so?"
