A total of four rounds of interviews: First - a phone screen with the hiring manager; Then - phone screen with the recruiter; Next - a three-hour Zoom interview with multiple team members, taking turns every half hour - ending with the hiring manager (there was a half hour break in between all of this); Last - a 45 minute Zoom with another team member.
I enjoyed talking to just about everyone that I talked to. One guy seemed to either be too tired or not interested in doing his part of the Zoom interview. Also, he and another guy switched times which I didn't expect - but not a big deal either.
Overall it was good interaction. It's just that after talking with the hiring manager twice and having me go through all those interviews, they passed on me in the end and didn't give a reason why they went with someone else. I got positive feedback from the team and they enjoyed talking to me, but gave no real reason for declining my candidacy. Especially after speaking with the guy who would've been my boss twice, I don't understand why they made me go through all of that if there was any uncertainty of me being "the guy". In the end, it seemed like they just didn't know what they wanted or what exactly they were looking for. That's ok - not so sure I would want to work in a place like that anyway.
