1. Warm intro.
2.Junior HR (2 weeks in the company)- Interview. mainly explained about the company and wanted to learn why I was interested int he role.
3.Hiring Manager interview- really kind.
4.Assignment followed by interview- Not a 5 hour assignment as they suggested. Probably closer to 10 hours to do a good job. The assignment itself was all over the place with a lot of essential data missing.
5. Interview following assignment- I was told this was a conversation once my assignemnt was done. Assumed given the amount of work that an intillegent conversation will follow. When I arrived to the interview the hirining manager who i previously interviewed with was great. He colleague (who I think was her boss)- asked me to start my presentation. I expressed my confusion and expectation, but did start to present. 2 questions in (out of 6 and with 15 min left for this section of the interview)- I was asked to stop and the rude interviewer said she heard enough. Given you just asked someone to spend hours on end doing an assignment- I found this EXTREMELY rude. the second interviewer also cut me off non stop. I have never experienced such a rude interview.
Assignment: Did not require usage of an external tool, but if you do add it to Jira, all the answers emerge as project management tools visualise isses quickly. 6 questions based on a data set. find the issues. describe what you would do differently. How do you manage a team, what would you do if a client asks to add to your workload something new, etc.
I will add that other than the last experience- all my encounters with HR and the senior hire manager were really pleasant and efficient. It is the last interview after the assignment with the additional interviewer that completely spun the experience around.
Also adding- they were prepared to pay up to 70k annually.
