I applied online. I interviewed at Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue in Mar 2026
Interview
My experience with this process was overall quite negative. The interview panel consisted of three people, and the session was strictly limited to 15 minutes, as indicated in the calendar invite. The interview proceeded at a very fast pace, with questions asked in rapid succession and little time to reflect before responding. This created an atmosphere that felt unnecessarily pressuring, as if the format itself was designed to challenge candidates rather than facilitate a constructive exchange.
At the end of the interview, I was told not to expect a prompt response "as there is always someone who's sick or on holiday, so we don't know how long it is going to take to give you a reply; just bear with us," without any indication of a general timeline. This added to the sense of uncertainty around the process.
Additionally, prior to the interview, the HR representative who initially contacted me asked whether I had a minimum salary threshold below which I would decline an offer. Being asked this question at such an early stage felt premature and somewhat inappropriate, and it gave the impression that compensation expectations were being assessed in a way that might disadvantage candidates.
Following the interview, I received a generic rejection email. When I reached out to request feedback, I did not receive any response, which was disappointing and reinforced the overall lack of transparency and candidate engagement throughout the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
"tell us about yourself"
"tell us about a time you worked very well in a team"
"Tell me 3 adjectives to describe yourself." "[immediately after my answer] And if we asked your friends?"
"Tell me about a time you mad a mistake and how you managed it"
"do you have any questions for us?"
I had two interview experiences with this employer for two separate jobs. I commend the employer on the questions asked during both interviews. They were challenging but fair. For the first job, however, I didn’t receive ANY information as to whether or not I had been successful or rejected - they just ghosted me. For the second one, they let me know but without feedback. Also, they knowingly scheduled the interview during my vacation, and due to technical issues caused by conducting the interview from a bad hotel internet connection, I suspect they no longer wanted to hire me for what was a remote position.

Interview
It was okay, nothing too fancy. The interviewers were fine, and the process was straightforward. Didn't get the gig this time, but that's how it goes. It would be nice if they had a location in Germany.
