      Interview

So the position was based in Singapore and I was contacted by a consultant based at Vadodara. The guy was speaking with a terrible borrowed diction and was trying to sell a 6 months contactual position. I was assured that after 6 months it will be renewed to 2 years or will get permanent. I was on a vacation but on a request from the person, I agreed to spare time to research about client firm and the country where the position was based. It consumes nearly half the day. I received a follow up call and to discuss the opening further where the person continues to sell the opportunity. My major concern was cost of living and the budget of the profile. Based on my research and speaking to some people I was not getting convinced that 4800SD is justified. But the person said he would help me get a place to stay at mini India and living there is not at all expensive even when you are living a lavish life. He said he is from Singapore himself and is in India due to work, which from his fluency and English wasn't appearing to be true. The recent data from many news agency proved that Singapore is the most expensive in terms of cost of living for the year 2016. After this I was sent a consent mail and I was told after that mail no agreement can be modified. And based on my discussion with the person I sent it back as the person requested it was urgent. My problem starts here now, I was made to spend time on reaseaching, going through mails and sending my consent. Which is a time consuming activity. On person's request, I was getting things done on time. And then the person disappears. I sent 2 followups to know if the position is no longer available to make sure I'm not spending any further time on preparing or on researching. There's no response or any feedback. There has been no response after expressing my worry about the hiring consultant's unprofessional behaviour in a mail to him which I sent as feedback. My 2 classmates working with your firm weren't surprised.
