Head scratching. I was contacted directly by one of the executive recruiters. I expressed interest in speaking with her about the role and what the company was seeking. Since she found me via my LI profile, I was up front about having taken a sabbatical just in case this gap was a deal breaker. She said no problem and we scheduled time for a conversation. I was on the call for 10 minutes waiting when she messaged that she was stuck on another call. No issue as these things happen. She asked to reschedule for later that afternoon. I acknowledged and said I would make myself available. Zero follow up and zero response to any messages I have sent since. It has been a week and its clear she has ghosted me. This is a senior role in the company and one I would excel at given my unusual background. The company appears to be top notch from what I have read, the program is well received from what peers have indicated, and people seem to like working for the company. How I looked at the company has now been muddied simply because a recruiter on staff didn't know how to navigate exiting a conversation they started. Even if this role wasn't a fit by either of us, I would have continued looking at them for other opportunities.
