I have been working at Compass Group USA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I have a boss that cares about me as a person, and not as another work body. He treats me wit respect and dignity at all times, and challenges me everyday to continue to reinforce this with other managers.

    Cons

Sometimes the work schedule can be long, but it pays off in the end.

    Advice to Management

My advice is to really listen to what the managers have to say in the field. We need to ensure they have a voice at all times.

I have been working at Compass Group USA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Hands down the culture here is amazing. You are free to be yourself which I feel is actually welcomed.
Leaders do actually care. while you may not interact with them every day, they get to know you and remember you .
Growth, wow the opportunities, if you put in the time and do a good job, the rate in which they expand offer plenty of opportunity for a promotion.

    Cons

Communication can be a little out of touch just do to their size but that is an easy thing to overcome.

    Advice to Management

Keep on investing in our people and our company will continue to excel!

I worked at Compass Group USA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company car, 4 weeks vacation/sick leave in year one, and company cellphone

    Cons

Overworked for salaried employee. Worked way more than 40 hours per week. Emails and conference calls expected to be attended to before and after hours and even on weekends. Weekend work required sometimes to finish proposals, forecasts or presentations. Good ole’ boys club in middle and upper management. If they don’t like you, you are gone. If they like you, you are promoted, regardless of qualifications or rank next to others that are more deserving. Pay is heavy commission and based on profit which you have no control over.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees equally. Truly support/accommodate a work/life balance for employees. Treat employees with respect as they are professionals and not a piece of meat that you can throw in the trash. Respect their time off when they take vacation or a sick day. Stop emailing and calling or expecting them to come off of vacation because a special and urgent project comes up. Even though largest company of its kind in world, have a lot to fix internally and will and are losing a lot of quality people. And they are going to your competition and making an impact on your market share.
