I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Cummins (Columbus, IN) in Feb 2015
Interview
Friendly, Warm, Easy pace, telephonic, relatively easy questions, gave factory tour, tell me about your self question, why would you think you are good fit for this job, walked through how a great city to raise family (its boring with little to do middle of nowhere)
Initial screening call - with HR
Phone technical interview - with hiring manager
Panel technical interview
Be sure to have strong technical answers to whatever you have written in your resume.
Interview process is typical of employers within the industry. It involved 2 separate interviews, one 30 min meeting with a recruiter and another longer 1 hour meeting with the team leader.
Relatively simple. Talked about my experience and various scenarios that may come up in real life. Be through with the basics of controls theory and your projects and you should have a good chance of acing the interview
