First screening is with the operations manager. Second interview is with the CEO. Fairly straight forward, but this role demands some business development top-of-funnel activity alongside admin responsibilities. Conversation with CEO seemed more like a way for them to discover business development best practices that they claimed to be in need of. They didn’t seem interested in discussing my skills and experience, nor did they bother asking me culture-fit questions. Was told they might have to restructure this role near the end of the interview uncertain of what they need for this position and that Czero has “a lot of internal problems”. Nothing about the interview inspires confidence in whatever direction they are headed and leadership should have forecasted the needs of the role much better to not waste their time, and more importantly, mine. I withdrew my application. CEO seems more interested in hiring someone he can have a beer with than finding the best candidate, whether that was me or not.
Interviewees, beware red flags- there are plenty here and the CEO threw them at my feet.
