I was asked to prepare a demo lesson containing about 60 minutes worth of slides for 2 skills. During this process, not only did the interviewer asked me to skip half of the prepared lesson, the only thing they were interested in was how I teach each skills and how I answer the students' arguments.
After the demo lesson, I was asked to go to their headquarters for a 1-on-1 with their CEO. When I got there, the CEO told me that I had passed the demo lesson and was planning to train me. However, he told me that the training would last for 6 weeks and that I would need to sign a contract for 3 years.
The next day when the training was supposed to happen, I received a rejection letter with absolutely no reason being given. My personal theory is that either I was too old for the job (Most teaching job in Vietnam require Vietnamese candidates to be under the 30, for the record, I was 30 years old then] or that my appearance was not to their liking.
