Note: This is in regards to a position titled "IT Strategist", which Glassdoor doesn't list. While on the lookout for remote jobs, I stumbled across Delegate Solutions. After browsing their Glassdoor reviews, I felt more confident in them as a company so I tossed in my resume near the end of January. A few weeks later, on February 19th, I was invited to take a look at a more detailed job description (including compensation) as well as schedule a "Video Meet-Up". Upon attempting to schedule, I noticed an opening the next day for 1PM, which I simply couldn't make due to another interview. Oddly, the next available opening was over a week after, so with no other choice I scheduled for that date. Later that same day I receive an email from Delegate Solutions informing me that the interview stage for this position would be closing Friday (which was only 2 days away), and for lack of better wording, was given the ultimatum of interviewing the next day at 1PM. So why was I allowed to schedule my interview for next week again? Moving on, I did everything in my power to attend the Zoom interview with them, including rearranging my plans as well as cancelling a different interview. 1PM rolls around and I'm trying to connect to the room, which Zoom says hasn't been started. I repeatedly try every few minutes for around a half hour before sending them an email. Finally I hear back that their entire team has been having issues with Zoom. We try setting up another room but in the end the exact same thing happens. By this point I've been trying to get into this interview for over an hour. In the end, I decided to withdraw my application and take my job hunt elsewhere. What kind of company that considers themselves professionals doesn't have a backup option in place if one avenue fails? What about Skype? How about picking up the telephone? When all is said and done, I think "Delegate Solutions" needs to follow their own business model and delegate some of their solutions to someone with some common sense. While the Zoom situation wasn't their problem, not having a failsafe is inexcusable.
