We first discussed payment expectations - I gave a hard number of 14,000 NIS. The recruiter didn't object and was positive, and then I went on to 5 (!) interviews with them. Some were group interviews involving working with other candidates, and of course, a take-home assignment. After all that, they gladly offered me a contract of 10,000 NIS, and that, after completing a hard 3-month academy of theirs, a whopping increase of 1,000 NIS. However, if I were to quit before a year, I would have to pay them 100,000 NIS due to their "wasted" investment in me. This is almost a con company, and having your employees stay due to threats and not for any other reason is borderline evil. Overall, a lengthy lesson for me, and I hope that I managed have others skip this altogether.
