Question 1
Describe your previous experience and how it translates to this role.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Deloitte (Dallas, TX) in Mar 2019
Interview
Interview process was fair. Completed 5 interviews. It was a mix of technical and behavioral. You have to be prepared for anything, no set format. Interviewed with Managers, Senior Managers, Partners
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deloitte in Mar 2017
Interview
I applied online and got an email from a recruiter a few days later. Followed up with a first phone interview that was a good introductory conversation about the firm. The interviewer wasn't in the practice area of the firm I applied to so we only had a general conversation.
The second phone screen was with someone who also didn't work in the practice area of the firm I applied to. We had a very perfunctory conversation. He admitted to not reading my resume and it felt like he was rushing me off the phone the entire time. I received feedback from the recruiter where I was told I wasn't technical enough for the position. This was completely odd since I didn't have anything approaching a technical conversation with either interviewer.
I pushed back on the lack of technical experience feedback. In response, I was told the two persons I spoke with often work with the practice area I was applying to. In all a complete waste of all parties time since they didn't bother to match me up to people who could actually suss out my experience. Plus I still can't get over that one of the people didn't even read my resume. Completely unprofessional.
