1. Application & Resume Screening
Recruiters or hiring managers review your resume and cover letter.
They check for relevant skills, certifications, and experience.
Automated Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) may filter candidates based on keywords.
2. HR / Recruiter Screening (Phone/Video Call)
A short 20–30 min call with HR.
They’ll ask about:
Your background and interest in the role.
Salary expectations.
Availability and location.
Basic understanding of the company.
3. Technical / Skill Assessment
For cybersecurity / tech roles, this could be:
An online test (MCQs, scenario-based, or labs).
A take-home assignment (log analysis, penetration test report, etc.).
A coding challenge (if it’s a developer/security engineer role).
4. Technical Interview(s)
Conducted by senior team members or managers.
Focused on:
Problem-solving skills.
Deep technical knowledge (e.g., SOC operations, networking, threat detection, incident response).
Tools and frameworks you’ve used (Splunk, Wireshark, SIEMs, Metasploit, etc.).
Case studies: “How would you respond to a ransomware alert in a SOC?”
5. Behavioral / HR Round
Tests your soft skills and cultural fit.
Commonly uses the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
Questions like:
“Tell me about a time you worked under pressure.”
“How do you handle conflicts within a team?”
6. Final Round / Panel Interview
Could include multiple stakeholders (manager, director, team leads).
Discussion on career goals, long-term fit, and how you’d contribute to the company.
Sometimes includes negotiation of offer terms.
7. Offer & Onboarding
If selected, you’ll receive an offer letter.
Background checks and documentation happen before onboarding.
