Donnington Manor Hotel interview questions

I was contacted about this job through a recruitment agency. I had two telephone interviews with the Hotel Manager, which went very well, albeit, very few questions were asked about myself. My role at the hotel was then accepted in writing via email from the hotel manager, I then handed in my notice to my previous job as this was all confirmed. I had a face to face meeting at the hotel where the role was discussed further, at the end of this meeting I was told the hotel wanted to hire me directly rather than through the recruitment agency to avoid the referral fee. A few days later, I was then called by the hotel manager and informed that even though I had been accepted for the Event Coordinator role, I would have to begin as a Receptionist and work my way to the Event Coordinator role in hopes to be promoted in 8 months time. This company disregarded their written confirmation of my job role as well as complete lack of empathy towards my career as they knew I had handed in my notice at my previous job. Disgusting attitude throughout the recruitment process, completely unprofessional. Definitely would not want to work under their management and do not recommend anyone else putting themselves in the position to have to.
