Hurried and lackluster. Manager wanted me to do 4 jobs under one salary. They want you to jump around the property fixing things and doing laundry while also checking people into their rooms.
- Have you worked with the general public before?

Anonymous Employee in Annapolis, MD
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Extended Stay America (Annapolis, MD) in Dec 2022
The interview process was very good and the person that interviewed me had a good understanding of the company and its policies which helped me decide to take the offer.
- Asked about other related jobs

I applied online. I interviewed at Extended Stay America (Mukilteo, WA) in Sept 2022
Interview was in the afternoon. I met the Managers and sat down in the office. We went over resume and why i applied. Questions about where i see myself in five years. Also aout my computers experience and people experience. Dress code considerations. Hours available. They do allow pets so was i open to being around them. The hotel is really nice and located in perfect spot with lots of food places close by and beach is within minutes. I was also informed they do have people stay for long periods of time for many reasons such as work contracts. The interview was pleasant and the two managers were very easy going and nice, very friendly. Made a nice interview experience.
- Manager will go over resume. Where do you see yourself in fives years. Do you mind being around pets. Level of computer skills. Have you handled money? Do you work well with others? Are you open to tasks possoble being handed over if needed. What time(hours) are you available.

there's a face-to-face interview with the general manager then they do a background check. Corporate does the background check to make sure you don't have a criminal record for stealing.
- what experience you have that relates to the job

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Extended Stay America
In person interview, then online application through portal. Wasn’t bad. I had a nice manager and the employees were good. I wouldn’t go back because it’s not for me, but good job to start out.
- Will you be on time

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Extended Stay America
They did not ask many questions. They were more interested in talking about themselves and the company and the day to day tasks instead of really getting to know the applicants skills and background.
- Do you have reliable transportation

If you have the pleasure of having the amazing Jennifer perform your first interview you're a lucky person. She was amazing from the very start. Her kindness, friendliness and positive attitude made this the best interview I've ever had. I've never finished an interview and had zero remaining questions. She answered everything for me before I even needed to ask. She's an amazing asset for ESA and honestly she's one of the biggest reasons I joined the company. I then spoke to Ryan and Julio and they were equally as awesome. They were extremely professional but also added some humor which made it an extremely comfortable interview. We talked about real life stuff which made it easier to get to know each other and how we are as people. I never once felt intimidated or nervous as some interviewees make you feel. They asked real questions that actually pertained to the job I was applying for instead of those five star interview questions that every hotel in the world asks. This whole interview process was the best one I've ever had from beginning to end. These guys do interviews the right way.
