I applied online. I interviewed at Fidelity Investments (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2024
Interview
I would say my experience with Fidelity Canada has been one of the most positive experience I've had in a while for recruitment. The HR representative was absolutely helpful during the entire interview process. He always ensured to provide a deadline after every round of interview for results and always reached out before time. He was proactive in setting up different interview rounds and made me feel really comfortable during the entire recruitment process. The interviewers were also very composed and asked only relevant questions to the role.
There were total of 4 rounds for the interview process:
1. HR Round- A quick phone interview (15mins) with details about the job and salary discussion.
2. Panel Interview- A techno-behavioral interview (50-60mins) with two members of the team involving questions such as your experience, and a walkthrough of your resume.
3. Hiring Manager Interview- A behavioral interview (30mins) with the hiring manager for the role. The discussion will be more around judging your team word and problem solving capabilities. For my interview, it was more of like a conversation rather than an interview.
4. Case Study- A sample case study will be provided few days before the interview. The expectation is to present your analysis of the case study to a panel of interviews, followed by few simple questions around your approach to the case study.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. Walkthrough of your career by referring resume
2. Few standard Behavioral questions such as most difficult project, a time where you had to explain technical stuff to non-technical stakeholders.
3. Very Basic Technical question relevant to role
I’m disappointed with my experience, as I’ve applied to over 50 roles without receiving responses. In contrast, a friend who applied a few times received communication and ultimately an offer, which makes the lack of feedback on my applications especially discouraging.

Question 1
what is your expected salary range? Please be very specific. [I also said I was flexible and proceeded to be GHOSTED]
I only did two steps of the interview process, the first was the usual recruiter screening. The second was a panel of about five people, only one or two of which asked questions. The others were just there to listen and chime in.
The interview process was very straightforward. I recruited for a full time role just out of undergrad and it was similar to every other interview process I have gone through. Submit your application, call with HR, followed by additional rounds of interviews.
