I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Freshworks (Chennai) in Mar 2016
Interview
The whole interview was intriguing but lengthy. There were totally four rounds + one discussion wiht HR. First round had questions on the basics of web development. Questions were more from an analytical stand point and not the traditional what, why types. Second round is a mix of machine test + quizzing. My resume had a lot of design elements so I was challenged to create a web page(s) design in a paper and recreate one of the page in machine. I had trouble working with mac though (I more of a window guy). The macbook they gave me was a carte blance so I had to install my sublime, grunt and a localserver. Third round was with the UI director himself. This was more of a discussion and he explained the work they are doing at Freshdesk, the various spin offs and tech stack. All the interviewers examined the understanding in ooJS and MVC. I was asked about my expertise in Ember (which was nil). Fourth round was a casual technical/past experience discussion with the potential team lead. After all the tech discussions, (in a sub zero air conditioned room) HR panel took over and explained the work culture at Freshdesk. I clarified my questions from Glassdoor and recieved honest answers. The negotiation was bit difficult for me but settled on a very good front. Got the offer letter signed by the CEO himself and left the company premise.
The very next day I cancelled all my ongoing process with other companies and receded from one offer I was holding. One day at Freshdesk was enough to convince me!
Tips: Keep yourself updated in web techs, ES6 , css3 (flex). Questions might puzzle you a bit but thinking out of the box will help. Knowledge in Ember will be a huge plus. And the free lunch was great. Too bad that was my 'salad' day :(

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Freshworks (Chennai) in Aug 2018
Interview
first round was a 1.5 hr Hacker-rank system test that we should take up on their office premises in a MAC book. we need to design a web page as per requirement. it involves good knowledge in java script, css, html, json.
Once we clear the first round, the next is a F2f technical round with a senior developer. There they give you another scenario where we need to design a web page using javascript from scratch. Though I managed to arrive at a proper solution, they weren't convinced and wanted a more optimized code. So, they didn't select me for the next round. But, overall the process was very good. Good work environment, free lunch, startup like setup, etc. Will definitely improve my skills and take up another interview soon.

Interview
Pathetic experience !!! Not at all prepared.
Please don't go for an interview here, especially on Saturday. They will ask you to wait for more than 3 hours to start from the time they scheduled.
The IT team will make the mac device setup for the online test only after you come and wait for the interview.
The office looks very congested compared to one of TCS which is far more spacious.
They give you a mac device which is extremely hard to code especially scrolls and clicks.
They should improve this process for sure.
