      Customer Service Representative Interview

      16 Aug 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at GEICO (San Diego, CA) in Jul 2012

      Interview

The process was long and tedious. First off you wait in the waiting room for a test station to open up. Once it does you are instructed that you will take a series of two test. The first one is simple as far as the operation goes, however it is a little overwhelming. You have a screes that pops up e-mail from customer as well as a "incoming caller". You job is to navigate through various screens to input their information via drop down screens. After this section you will have a simple typing test. You do this process two times. Once you finish that and pass you complete a personality test. To my surprise I passed all the test. You are ten escorted two a interview room when you have a short interview with a HR rep. If you pass that you will be advised that you have 30 min to study the information she handed you regarding a fake prepaid repair company. A different person will call you acting like a customer. Your job is to up sale and provide "exceptional" customer service. After the daunting call the HR rep will come in, discuss your performance and give you another interview. Once you pass that you go on the floor to shadow a rep. That process was ridiculous because everyone they put me with went to lunch. Stayed on the floor for 1 1/5 hrs!! The department manager came and got me to conduct a grueling hour interview. I was so tired and out of rehearsed answers so I knew that I blow that interview. Sure enough a few days later I got a mass email stating I was not offered the job. My advise to anyone who has an interview rehearse your answers, use real life experiences and always comment on how you can put the customer first.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at GEICO (Tampa, FL)

      Interview

It was a weird process, first it was on zoom and my interviewer told me to turn off my camera because of the bandwidth issues. Then she asked three questions and provided me the job description and the hours. She then asked me if I was looking for other work and If I was currently working. I did tell her that I am currently working and she told me that I have enough time to provide my current job a two weeks notice. After the interview she told me that she was going to endorse my application for review. Then she sent me another email saying that “Your recruiter will be in touch with you for next steps”. Then in the middle of night not even 24 hrs, I get a generic email saying that I was passed on. I wanted to find out why did I get an email saying that a recruiter was going to contact me, then I passed on from someone else. This was a customer service position and during the interview she told me that I have a lot of experience. I just didn’t like during that interview I was given false hope. I would not recommend applying to this company.
