      Product Manager Interview

      12 Jul 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Gallup in Mar 2016

      Interview

Started with an HR rep messaging me on Linkedin. I was then put through a multi-level process. Each stage of the process took a few days for confirmation to continue to the next step. After an initial 40 minute phone call from an HR rep. I was sent a multiple choice question test (about 60 questions) that was more basic in its questioning but still rigorously covering a wide variety of scenarios. A week later I received approval to take my second interview test (30-40ish Questions). This one applied similar principals from the previous exam but included more intensive scenarios asking for the decisions I would make if presented them based on ethical, logical, and business perspectives. A week later I had a scheduled phone call verbal exam, where I was asked paraphrased questions from the second test and had to explain reasoning behind my choices. Then that was it. Two weeks later I was told my personality didnt fit with the specific role. One of their main products is a behavoir assesment test that predicts the most effective personalities for each specific role. An applicants character traits must fall within the respected data points per each trait for the role they are seeking. They were 100% searching for consistency in choices that reflect ones personality. Based on that they'll use the data to correlate whether that individual is the best for that role. They give you no reason if you are not hired. They just say sorry you werent the best candidate.

      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gallup in Sept 2019

      Interview

I first was contacted online to do an assessment, and a week later I received an invitation for a video interview. In the video interview, I was asked about my previous experiences and given some behavioural questions. The next week, I received a call from Gallup that I had received an offer for the position of QA intern rather than PM, which is what I had interviewed for throughout the process. Despite the phone call, though, I did not get my offer email until nearly two weeks later.
