I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Goldschmitt and Associates in Jun 2024
Interview
Quick, and efficient. There were two parts. Each one lasted about 30 minutes. The first was general knowledge. A recruiter worked with me to talk about the default job requirements. We also went over education, and length of experience. The recruiter was SUPER awesome! She was personable, nice, and overall very knowledgeable! It was really focused at getting to if I was the base qualification for the job, and if I had a good personality to fit. Because I qualified, she asked availability and scheduled me for a second interview shortly after. The second interview was with what I would assume to be the hiring manager. It was good, and a lot more technical. Because the position is remote, a lot of it was about how I was able to complete tasks, and how I was able to focus on what I needed to get done. The two interviewers were project managers, the chief and the deputy. They were both super respectful, and kind. I had a followup question they did not know the answer to. They reached out to me after the interview with an in-depth response. Overall, it was one of the best interviews I have done in a while, and it was a great turnaround from how fast it started to how fast it finished.
UPDATE:
Now why did I put a negative experience? The interview was great, and they said I would hear back within one week at the latest. I got nothing back. It has been a month, I sent a few follow-up emails. Not an acceptance letter, not a denial letter, not even a "We are still waiting" email. Just ghosted me. It was weird. I am not sure if I was lost at some point in the process, but it was all super strange.
UPDATE 2:
They just got back to me again. This was after waiting a month and a half after they said I should get a response. I had also sent four emails to them in the meantime to get an answer. They sent a generic condescending email. "Thank you again for your interest in Goldschmitt and Associates! I appreciated the opportunity we had to speak together, and I was overall impressed with your background and experience.
Although your background is impressive, upon further review, the team was unable to select you as an ideal fit for the position and current needs. As one of the leaders within our industry, we receive many qualified applicants like yourself, so thank you again for taking the time to apply!"
Overall this was a pretty poor experience. I am not sure if I'm unique in it, but I would not recommend based on this.
