      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Google (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2016

      Interview

Interview with HR. Then two phone interviews - one with an engineer, the second one with a talent manager. Google recruiting team stayed very engaged during the interview process. The second interview had to be a Google Hangout Interview, but the interviewer decided to do it over the phone. A recruiter called to deliver a rejection notice, and encouraged to apply for other positions.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Dublin, Dublin) in Jan 2022

      Interview

After I have applied online, I was contacted by a recruiting agent and had with them a pleasant 1 hour introduction call. After that the agent scheduled the first phone interview with me to be within the next two weeks. So I had the first phone interview and it went very well. It was the first time I got a positive feedback during the interview itself rather than waiting a couple of days to get it. Few days later, I got a call from the recruiting agent confirming that I got a "very positive" feedback from my first phone interview and that I would move forward to the onsite interview which was then scheduled within the next one month. I spent four weeks of studying, reading and preparing for both the technical and behavioral interviews, and when the day came, just 40 minutes before the interview to start I received a phone call from the recruiting agent telling me that the interview was is not going to be held and that the job was "put oh hold indefinitely"! I asked the agent for more details and if the decision was based on anything related to my performance in the previous interview or based on my resume, but unfortunately I did not get any clear information. After one month of thinking and searching in the internet about the possibilities of this situation, I've decided to post my experience here.

      Technical Operations Manager Interview

      15 Sept 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Mountain View, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Google (Mountain View, CA) in Aug 2016

      Interview

Standard Google process. First contact by recruiter, followed by phone interview with a technical resource, followed by an on-site interview series at the Mountainview campus that assesses technical expertise, organizational leadership expertise, and cognitive ability. Interview questions are under NDA, so I won't be posting them. The issue with recruiting at Google is that the candidates don't understand that it's continuous recruitment. The day that a candidate has the on-site interview the position that s/he is applying for may have already been filled. One can ace the interviews, can make it through the hiring committee, just to not be selected because the position is no longer available. My advice is to not rage about that but to keep a good relationship with the Google recruiter. If another position opens up then one is able to be considered for that position if the overall consideration process identified one as viable candidate.
