I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Kuala Lumpur) in Aug 2015
Interview
A group interview with two others, quite short, mostly felt like a formality. Had an assessment beforehand to check excel capability. Lasted about 30 minutes, but felt a lot shorter because 3 candidates were involved and answered one by one. Since it was a first interview for all of us, we were pretty nervous.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
fairly simple. Tell me about yourself, experience with group conflict, etc.
The first round of interviews was a group interview with four people, followed by an English essay. Neither the interview questions nor the essay topic had anything to do with auditing, and the interview questions seemed to be fixed; some interviewees even knew the questions beforehand. If that's true, I think it's unfair.
The interview process at Grant Thornton typically involves multiple stages, including an initial phone screening, a behavioral interview, and a technical or case-based assessment. Candidates may also meet with managers or partners. The process emphasizes cultural fit, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities, often concluding with a final round or offer discussion
