Asked me to discuss my background, then asked me to talked about a time I experienced failure, then proceeded with job requirements and salary which started at $35K + a capped bonus of $10K
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Groupon (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2014
Interview
I had a phone interview. Nice guy, really made me like the company.
Then I had an in-person interview. I met with three people. One ended up being my manager (he was amazing), one was some woman, and another was probably the greatest guy who ever worked at Groupon.
I got a phone call two days later and accepted the job.
FYI: everyone who interviews you is totally drinking the Groupon kool-aid. It is not as great as it sounds. About a year after I started working there, all three of my interviewers had quit because they're smart, reasonable people. Don't do it!!!!!

Interview
When I arrived it was at least 7 other people in the lobby waiting to be interviewed as well. When it was my turn my name was card and I was led to the interview room. I interviewed with a woman and then with a man. The interview lasted around 45 minutes. I received a call back but I wasn't able to answer when the lady called and I was never able to reach her afterwards so I just assumed I didn't get offered the position.
Phone and Skype combo. Seemed rushed and wrote me off quickly without diving deeper. Seemed like they wanted a direct connection with the work I'm doing at my current employer, but the industry and circumstances are different. They asked a lot of questions about handling stress, constant change, and working within a fast-paced team environment.
