Recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn then had a brief phone call. Without asking me anything about my background, or telling me anything about the company, the first sentence was, do you know what we do? When I answered that I had reviewed the website and done some research he responds saying so do you know any businesses that would be interested in our product.
Then scoffed when I addressed the fact that I am sure there are hundreds, if not thousands, of small-medium size businesses that I know but I am not sure if they would be interested in their product without knowing the value-add they offer over their competitors, cost, customer service, etc.
Then questioned why I was even interested in the position. He reached out to me, I didn't apply for the job, asked me if I would have a call with him which I am happy to do and even potentially refer others I may know interested to work with them. But his attitude was offensive. He couldn't address all the negative Glassdoor reviews from sales. Had no idea what the process was when a salesperson left how their account was re-assigned. Couldn't tell me what the typical lifecycle timeline was from contact to close and what a typical pipeline was for a consultant. Things any experienced person would want to know before even considering taking an interview to the next stage. He couldn't even give me BASIC information on commissions. All he could say was most people make about $100K their first year and said that commissions would be discussed later.
