Initial communications with the recruiters were great. They took time to explain what the role was, company culture, organizational structure, etc. Then I had the actual interview. The interviewer was highly distracted, clearly hadn’t read my resume, and made rather inappropriate comments about my experiences that were condescending and disrespectful. As a BIPOC leader, seeing a senior member of the leadership team behave this way reinforced the structural barriers to opportunity present in the tech industry. The inherent bias prevalent throughout the interview was unacceptable. The interview should have been a team interview. I was led to believe KLA is highly inclusive and that was not my experience.
