I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kohl's in Dec 2012
Interview
I applied online and received a phone call a couple days later asking for an interview, we set a date and i went in dressed with dark gray slacks black dress shoes, black dress shirt and a silver tie. I was asked common question posted here on glass door. ex. time you handled a difficult customer, what you did on a day to day basis, why kohls etc. Surprisingly it wasn't a group interview it was one on one, i filled paperwork and was told to come for a second interview the next friday, i went in early again and met the woman we interviewed again similar questions and she discussed the pay, explained that it was seasonal etc. I turned the papers they gave me to fill out references and to submit to a background check she told me they would call for orientation, still haven't got a call.... I gave up on them. Their loss however i got an interview at macy so hopefully that one will go well i'll post on here after it goes this Wednesday.
Relatively easy asked me to tell them about how I would handle different situations and previous retails experience. I interviewed with a manager and was asked about my availability. I got a call the same day.

They went around the room and everyone took turns answering and told us asked the people who passed the interview to stay afterwards.

A few standard questions were asked-availability, what would you do first in certain situations, tell me about your experience. Pay was not discussed and experience did not earn you any more money.
