I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Konrad Group (Toronto, ON) in Sept 2019
Interview
Fairly straightforward. It was an initial phone interview and then an in-person interview with a project manager and strategy consultant. I did not make it on the next round, which was actually a total relief for me! I went into the interview already with a bad impression of the company just based on the many negative reviews of the company that I read on glassdoor. It does come across as male-oriented, and no one appears to be over 35. There doesn't seem to be a wfh policy and I'm sure that letting them know I have kids was an instant strike against me despite my experience and accomplishments. So much for diversity in the workplace!
1) HR to check for fit/ask for salary expectations
2) 1 hour definition interview with 1 person
3) 4 hours to create a a presentation based on case and then present to 2 people
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me for my transcript (lol) and then made me an offer with a deadline. I had a couple questions/items I wanted to counter. When I was finally able to meet with someone to ask my questions, they said they would need to check back in with leadership to see if it was possible. So I waited for an update from them. 1 week went by, I reached out, no answer. I reached out again, no answer. Then they said the contract had been voided because I hadn't accepted the offer .... Why would I accept while I was waiting for them to get back to me about my questions? When I finally heard back from them, I let them know I was interested in joining. The hiring manager said he would ask the board if they were still interested in bringing me on (of course, he disappeared for a week). Came back with the same reply: "We have voided the contract because you didn't accept."
If you're going to treat a candidate like this, how are you going to treat them as an employee?
Best part - they count sick days as PTO.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Konrad Group
Interview
Easy basic questions, no idea where I went wrong was probably just not an experience fit. Normal interview questions + sometime stuff to show you’re excited about tech. The recruiter was friendly and chill, pretty willing to strike up a conversation.

Interview
Recruiter was great. Then next step was asked to gather my transcripts. Strange request as I’m not fresh out of school but paid and ordered anyway. Interviewed with two people. Got a very tech bro vibe and very different from the initial recruiter. They were still nice but asked me multiple times why I want to work there. Not sure what kind of answer they were looking for. This process costed me money and I have my uni transcripts sitting around now.
