The process started smoothly with an initial phone screen and a well-organized pre-interview setup. The final interview was conducted remotely and included a Vice President and an HR representative.
However, the interview itself was disappointing. The questions were high-level and did not match the depth and complexity expected for the role. Having performed this job multiple times at a company that is widely regarded as the gold standard in this operational area, I was expecting a more rigorous discussion. Instead, the short time frame and the cursory nature of the questions did not allow me to showcase my expertise or qualifications effectively.
Overall, it felt like a missed opportunity for both sides—particularly for the company, which did not take full advantage of the interview process to assess a highly experienced candidate.
