I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lab49 (New York, NY) in Oct 2015
Interview
The interview was in-depth and fairly impressive. It started with a phone interview in which I was asked general questions about my experience, and then the recruiter asked me a series of multiple choice questions which spanned front-end engineering and general software engineering. In all honesty, I was a bit put off by this part of the process, as I always find technical questions to be opportunities for discussion, and having these questions directed from someone who isn't knowledgeable about them can be frustrating. Regardless, I passed this phase and went on to a phone interview in which I was asked a series of algorithmic questions by a current engineer at Lab49. After passing this portion, I moved to the on-site interview which was a series of 5 interviews including white-board interviews, JS coding problems on a laptop (in a very well setup test environment), and solution design questions.
