I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lapland Welcome in Jul 2025
Interview
The interview and further communication through emails and phone messages was unclear. The interviewer barely asked any questions regarding the past experience in similar roles. Furthermore, a few days before relocation, the CEO made several changes during my move-out process, which drastically complicated the whole procedure. I would highly advise researching the company before applying.

Interview
Had a very short phone conversation with Veli in which he asked about my past experience. He said I seem suitable. Was told that I'll receive an email with info which didn't come until I reminded him.
Received a very bare and vague description of work, salary mentioning "extras and so much more" but not stating what that meant, and an email of the work supervisor who I should direct my questions to.
Wrote back asking for more details (CCing Veli), the contract I was supposed to receive, the accommodation, work scope etc. and instead of that work supervisor Veli responded again, omitting some of the most important things (salary, accommodation, contract) and by that time it started feeling somewhat dodgy.
I worked for abusive people in the tourism industry before and developed a feeling for the red flags of exploitation and avoidance of a bad system (you have xx guides but not one spreadsheet stating the basic work info; dysfunction inside the team; vague answers on important topics, etc).
Then I saw the bad reviews here and on some guide facebook groups along with a video of him denying a guide her salary while telling her she should go get herself a lawyer, and some of mistreated guests from a decade ago with more damning comments underneath confirming the behavior of Veli not changing.
Got the hell out of that job idea. And of course haven't received any of the important info either.
Dodged a bullet here.
