Pros:
The interview process moved quickly at first. I appreciated the professionalism of the Executive Compensation Manager and Director of Compensation — they were personable and asked thoughtful questions that allowed me to speak to my strengths. I also had the opportunity to interview with the VP of Total Rewards, which signaled strong interest.
Cons:
Despite early momentum, communication became unclear after the final round. I was told I was still being considered, even after receiving a system-generated rejection notice. It was confusing and disappointing to find out the position was reposted and later learn I was no longer in the running without a clear explanation. Given the time and effort candidates put into multi-round interviews, more transparent and timely communication would go a long way.
Advice to Management:
Be transparent with candidates, especially those who make it to final rounds. A direct response — even if it’s a rejection — is more respectful than silence or mixed signals. Lockheed Martin’s mission is compelling, but the candidate experience should reflect its values of integrity and respect.
