First round screening with an HR rep that was anodyne and fairly straightforward, which lead to a scheduled video interview with the CEO.
Questions with the CEO were again anodyne, but at one point it was clear that I wasn't giving him the answer he wanted, so I asked him if perhaps he could clarify the question. In response, he repeated the question multiple times with no additional clarifying information, and eventually just suggested we move on to something else.
At one point he appeared genuinely befuddled by the idea of talking to his sales prospects about what his competitors were doing, and suggested it was bizarre that I would even ask a question about that.
He appeared distracted throughout the call and it was clear he was looking at something on another screen - eventually he cut the call short, announcing that his child had woken up (it appears he was watching a baby monitor on the other screen). I don't know if this was true or not, but it felt unprofessional either way. Overall, a strange experience.
