      Sales Assistant Interview

      6 Mar 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lush in Jan 2017

      Interview

I sent my CV and cover letter. Had an email to say I had a one to two hour trial on the shop floor. Turned up, wearing all black as specified. Was spoken to about Lush, introduced to the staff and shown how to give demos. I was then let lose on the shop floor. I made sure to greet every customer, ask how their day was going and what brought them into Lush. I honestly knew nothing about Lush products so when they said what they were after I passed them onto the other members of staff. I was taken out the back half way through and was told I was doing great, but it'd be good to see me doing some demos. The next half of the trial was very quiet as it was a Tuesday morning, so I ended up staying a bit longer so I could do some demos. I was also told to interact with the members of staff on the shop floor so I asked a few of them about their fave products and expereinces at Lush. At the end I was taken upstairs and was offered the job on the spot. They said they liked how I fit in and greeted customers and said it was like having another permanent member of staff already.

      Interview

It was a group interview, very unconventional, hands-on, and activity-based, teamwork. They expect you to know their company values and ethics, which will carry over to your role. It was very relaxed and they made me feel very comfortable and heard.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Lush (London, England)

      Interview

Was offered an interview and it was fairly casual - in the cafe, and it only lasted around 45 minutes. Pretty much immediately after I was offered a trial shift, and I went and it was kind of horrible because we didn’t know anything about the products, and it also wasn’t very busy so it felt like we were competing with each other to get a customer’s attention, only to not even be able to give them proper information and just have to guess. It was a bit embarrassing and we didn’t get paid either, but we got a free shower gel. I found out I got the job on the way home from the trial shift.
