We met in a Pep-Boys, in a corner next to the cashiers... there was a few people, about 10-12 who were waiting for their inspections to be done, and their documents to pass. After filling out the information sheet they give you, you hand them your car keys, and an inspector (mechanic) goes over to your car and inspects everything on their checklist. After about 15-20 minutes, they call you up and congratulate you on passing, then they make you wait for a few more people to do the same for a small orientation. After a few finished up, they brought us into a group and gave us the run-down on the things we will be doing, like how to set up your app or how to take a ride, and were also given advice to check out the tutorial videos on the app to prepare us for our first rides. We were also told that if we were to work more than 40hrs a week, we will be guaranteed $1,000 a week. I haven't drove 40hrs in a week, so I can't tell for sure if that is true; although I can vouch for working 10hrs for about $320, so if you're averaging 10hrs a day for 5 days, that's about $1,200 made. I wouldn't want to do that, but it sounds achievable.
