Invite to an online test platform (TestGorilla). You are expected to have both your camera and microphone recording during the whole process.
Started with classic IQ test style (e.g. which square finishes the sequence); then engineering manager scenario questions (see below) with limited options; finished off with a DISC quiz.
Note: I've personally never had a good experience with a company that uses personality quizzes as part of recruitment screening, be it as an employee or a candidate.
Literal quote from the DISC website: Although DiSC® profiles are often used as part of the hiring and onboarding process, they're not recommended for pre-employment screening.
The testing tool is not accessible, even the "Next"/"Finish" button was somewhat broken - the text on it is not clickable, so have to click around the button instead, which was annoying to me but would be a barrier for anybody with mobility issues. Additionally, the IQ testing section had images for the questions, making it absolutely not accessible for anybody with vision impairments. This shows that Matomo is an employer who is at best ignorant, at worst hostile against disabled people.
The questions asked in the second section are indicative of an unhealthy work environment, from the types of expectations that exist for managers, and the scenarios that the managers are expected to handle day-to-day. For some questions multiple options would be applicable, or vice versa - none of the options were applicable in a healthy working environment; Yes, it's obvious that some the questions are written to have one good option, 3 bad options. At least it shows the challenge for anyone deciding to join, and helps to weed out those that are not willing to enter a high-stress psychologically unsafe environment.
