I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at McKinsey & Company in Aug 2009
Interview
The interviews were very structured, with the cases being fairly linear, with the interviewer "leading" me towards a solution. Practicing mental arithmetic was a big part of my success here I think.
The experiential bit was not difficult with preparation - get your stories straight with a lot of "I did x" or "I said y" parts.
I interviewed at McKinsey & Company (New York, NY)
Interview
Positive experience until the super day. The scheduling was quite long and they gave me a month's gap between my previous round and my final round. But overall everyone speaks eloquently and thinks logically. My interactions with senior partners are also very positive; they ask insightful, probing questions and were encouraging throughout the interview. I thought I smashed it, but one of the partners called me the other day and rejected me.
First you get an HR Round, then 2 back to back interviews then 3 interviews. The overall process took around 2-3 weeks, it was not very difficult very fast turnaround
