      Junior Gameplay Programmer Interview

      19 Feb 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Media Molecule in Jan 2020

      Interview

I applied for the position and I was contacted after 4 months. They asked me to complete a programming test before even knowing for what kind of role they were considering me for. I only knew that after the test they were two interviews because I asked. The test consisted of two parts; theoretical and practical. It could be completed in 4-8h and although it was pretty easy, the practical part was horrible due to the lack of indications on what they wanted. After I sent the test, I was contacted in a week telling me that they had too many successful candidates and decided not to proceed with my application. They didn’t even care to take a look at my test and I couldn’t get any feedback because they contacted me from a no-reply email address. It is really rude asking someone to work for you and then not caring to take a look at their work. HR should really consider the treatment they give to candidates.
