      Tech Recruiter Interview

      30 Mar 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Meta

      Interview

I was reached out by a Recruiter by Facebook to enter the interview process. I decided to participate because of positive reviews in GlassDoor even knowing its business is no longer in stared place as before. The process was so ironic and even lower quality than one conducted by smaller companies in the industry. Both recruiters showed tiredness and pretty hurry up when talking with the candidate. Particularly, the second interviewer was really a nightmare for me. It felt like he ended up having overnight in the bar before the chat. He was lethargic, tired, unfocused ex. looked down to the table during the chat. He had a structured list of questions to ask and summarise every time the candidate gave answers in stead of expanding the conversation to get in-depth analysis of the candidate, which was weird! There were a couple of times he even interpreted wrongly my answers but kept nodding so I had to explain again after hearing his summary :( I have been through conversations with many companies in EMEA and US but honestly, I have to rate the candidate experience here is zero - 0. It's good to have Meta as work experience to boost your resume but there are millions companies out there to grow your career where you have good balance between professional development and sense of good org-culture. The interview process is a chance for candidates to interact with FBers and know more about your work culture, but honestly, I felt dreadful and still pondering on the review rating 4* here

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      - What did attract you to us and the role specifically? - Relocate or work remotely? *** Scenario questions are badly structured - felt like I entered an interview for early graduates! Each time being asked, you will have a series of question to deal with but I will break them down here for better reading: - Tell me a specific situation in which you really needed to stick with a plan of action in spite of any barriers or difficulties that you've kind of run into? + What was that situation? + What were the barriers you ran into? + How did you overcome them? - An example where you've been able to really accomplish a major objective for your team? + What was that objective? + What was the process that you took to accomplish it? + What was the result?

      Tech Recruiter Interview

      16 Mar 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Menlo Park, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Meta (Menlo Park, CA) in Jan 2017

      Interview

      - Had 1 phone interview and then an onsite interview. They scheduled the onsite on Saturday which was good, but when I went there I saw about 10 other interviewers as well for Tech Recruiter Position. Its like a group / job fair interview. What they do is, they try to reach out to 50 people, schedule 30 for onsite and pick may be 2 to 3. Two of my other friends had to say the same thing. I met 3 interviewers, who had fixed set of questions which was unusual. For Recruiters, there are no exact right or wrong answers unlike software engineers. Each interviewer asked about 5 to 6 questions, seems they had no interest in my answers/replies. They constantly looked at the time as if they were in hurry. One of them had a bad attitude, like my way or highway. You are calling in people and attracting them with a brand name "Facebook" but once you go there and meet people its the opposite. Change your process and attitude or else you wont have that reputation you have. On the verge of losing importance.
