It was pretty much a train wreck.
I submitted my resume, and the HR reached out to me to ask for some time for a phone screen. I responded quickly (within an hour during business hours) with times for the next few days. Nearly two weeks passed before she called me and asked if I could drive 2 hours each way for an in-person interview for a remote working position.
I politely declined when she couldn’t tell me anything about the position beyond the job posting. The next day she reached out again with the ask for a phone interview, which I accepted. I had the phone interview and it went well, but then I was asked to take that 2 hour drive for the in-person interview the next day. I accepted with some reservations.
The following day I drove 2 hours for the in-person interview, which ended up being in the middle of a Cheddar’s restaurant. I was asked the EXACT same questions as I had been the previous day, and at the end of the interview it was remarked that my answers were consistent with the previous interview. I was told I would be followed up with in a day or two.
After waiting 4 days, I followed up. After 2 more days, I followed up again. One day later I received a form email saying that I had not been selected for the position, but thanks for the interest in the company.
