      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at NIKE (Beaverton, OR) in May 2012

      Interview

Recruiter contacted me about a position and setup an initial phone screening with a department manager. This interview lasted about 30 minutes and was mainly general questions about my work experience. Once passed, they contacted me back for a face to face interview with 2 managers. Again, it was a very typical interview, with questions about my past, what I am looking for, and how I may handle a few difficult situations. Overall, I have interviewed with many different groups at Nike and have found they are more interested in how you will fit as a person than your super skills. Of course they want a competent person as well.

      Question 1

Our project process is broken. We are the testing team. We are falling behind, and we don't have enough resources to keep up and we cannot afford to bring on more resources. The development team keeps throwing more work at us and changes. What would you do to fix the situation.

External recruiter interview, followed by 2 interviews by zoom. Not difficult and very average questions. I self selected out as their were only offering a contract position with zero benefits and bad pay.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NIKE (Portland, OR) in Apr 2025

      Interview

I’ve gone through several Nike interviews for PLM roles. The process is consistent: first, a round with HR (always nice and friendly), then an interview with a hiring manager (usually casual and pleasant, insightful). After that comes the panel stage, which varies—sometimes 4 individual interviews, other times 2x2 panels. The panel interviews are tough and very robotic, one STAR question after another, with interviewers taking notes the entire time. Surprisingly, not once was I asked about actual footwear knowledge or my product expertise. It felt more about behavioral checkboxes than true capabilities. Another challenge is speed and clarity. I applied for a role in December, went through several rounds, and 7 months later, it’s still listed as open. Some roles get canceled mid-process due to restructuring. And in most cases, an internal candidate is ultimately selected. That said, Nike as a brand is inspiring, the people are passionate, and the culture is highly creative. If you land the right role, it’s an incredible place to build a career.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They always ask the same basics: Why this role?” and Why Nike? But I was never asked about actual footwear knowledge or product expertise, which was surprising.
