      Sales Specialist Interview

      14 May 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Sydney
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NIKE (Sydney) in May 2018

      Interview

The interview was held at the George St flagship store with around 20 candidates who were mostly students and 4 assessors - one was from the RPG's Melbourne head office. (A cautionary tale: do not mix up George St for the Pitt St store and rock up late; a couple of people did!) They had name tags prepared for you and you filled out an availability form at the start. There were 4 stages of the process which lasted an hour and a half. The introduction involved group discussion about NIKE and RPG as well as an icebreaker. Secondly, there was further group discussion about customer service, KPIs and the steps in selling - this was the lengthiest stage. We were then divided into groups of 5 and presented with the task of creating a shoe to present to everyone. Lastly, the assessors concluded the interview with information about our outcomes and benefits. The assessors pay close attention to your knowledge, soft skills and group dynamics from the icebreaker to the end of the group task so it is important to be engaging! This includes selling what is unique about yourself, tapping into your experiences to give meaningful responses, listening to others and avoiding a dominant position. Also be aware of your time limit in the group task, ensuring that you cover all requirements and be an active participant where your strengths lie! Overall, a well-organised group interview and generous opportunities to distinguish yourself. Wearing Nike gear from head to toe is not necessary, one noticeable item will do. We were told that we would receive our outcome within the following 7 days. Melbourne head office called me 6 days after and I was lucky enough to get an offer! Hope this helps, good luck :)

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NIKE (Sydney) in Feb 2017

      Interview

Group interview with 20 or so people. It was fairly open - rather than getting into groups it was rather an open discussion where questions were asked and we gave our input. However, the last part of the interview had us placed into a group of 4 where we role play as a customer and a sales assistant.
