it was a 45-50 min "technical" interview, but I found that the interviewers did not have sufficient knowledge about the subject.
Example: I asked the interviewer what kind of data do they work with? And the interviewer instead asks me: what do you think we do? How am I supposed to know. However I give my best attempt trying to explain the different types of data they might encounter and what it can be used for. To that the interviewer goes: "well you got part of the picture.... " I thought I'm applying for a data science position. I'm not trying to become a fortune teller.
They aksed me to explain what unstructered data is. To that I give a detailed answer, and also gave examples of unstuctered data. The interviewer just repsonds "but it could be a more simple answer right? a picture is an unstructured data". This is an example of unstuctered data not its defintion. I gave the same answer in another interview and they were happy with my answer.
The remaining 3 people didn't have many data science related questions to ask. So the lead interviewer kept asking if others had more questions.
I felt like the interviewers didn't have a background in statistics and just googled some data science questions to ask.
